Sam Smith on releasing debut album: 'I'm completely cacking myself'

'Money On My Mind' hitmaker Sam Smith has revealed that he's really anxious to release his highly anticipated debut studio album, 'In The Lonely Hour'.

The record is due to be officially released on May 26 and he told Marvin Humes for Capital FM that he's really nervous because it will be a real dream come true moment when it's finally unveiled:

"If I'm honest, I'm completely cacking myself. It's scary! I've just been in London for the past few days and seen some of the posters up on the Tube and stuff. It's all real now. I've been envisaging this moment for a long time, so it's scary but it's also very exciting."

When asked who the coolest celebrity he has met so far is, Smith confessed that he would definitely have to say 'Dark Horse' beauty, Katy Perry: "Oh gosh. Katy Perry's pretty cool. I was with her the other night actually, she's really cool."

The rising star also spoke briefly about an album track titled 'Stay With Me' and said that it represents the honesty he wrote into the songs on the offering: "It's one of my most brutal songs and I felt like it was the perfect introduction to the whole honesty of my album. I love gospel music, and I feel like the radio is missing gospel music sometimes. So I wanted to put some gospel on the radio!"
