Fall Out Boy: 'We want to leave a legacy behind us'

'Alone Together' rockers Fall Out Boy have revealed that they feel as though every album or song they release now must be of the highest standard and they want to leave behind a legacy.

Speaking exclusively to VH1, the band admitted that because they have families and other serious commitments in their lives now, the music they make has to be something they wholeheartedly believe in as they have to leave their loved ones for extended periods of time when they tour.

Pete Wentz said: "There's a legacy at this point. Everything has to be for the legacy of Fall Out Boy. It has to be important because we all have families back home now, so everything that we do has to be important enough to us to, like, leave the country for."

The group's frontman, Patrick Stump, added that their latest record, 'Save Rock And Roll', was important to him as he thinks records are 'suffering': "I'm ok with people doing singles and people just focusing on that. That's cool. I'm glad that there's a world of that because I feel like singles are getting more exciting. But I think the album is suffering and I don't want that art form to get lost because I think it's really important for people to remember how to do it."

Back in March, Wentz was asked if he ever gets nervous before taking the stage, but joked that his main concern is that less and less people will come to the shows: "I'm more worried that this will be the day people don't show up."
