Emma Bunton on Spice Girls' future: 'I don't see how we could top our Olympic performance'

Singer and radio presenter Emma Bunton has revealed that a Spice Girls reformation isn't on the cards right now and she also doesn't think they could ever do anything as epic as their Olympic closing ceremony mini-set.

Speaking to Seven Days magazine, Bunton confessed that her concern is that the Spice Girls will never top their Olympic performance so that makes her wonder if a reunion is something they should get themselves into:

"After the Olympics and representing our country, that was such a big highlight and such a big thing to follow. I was speaking to Mel C (bandmate Melanie Chisholm) the other day and we were saying that was the best thing we'd ever done. It's so hard to follow that. I always say, 'Who knows?'. But it's definitely not something that's on the cards right now."

Earlier this month, Melanie B told Smashing Interviews that there have been talks about getting the group back together again, but right now it is 'only a conversation': "I think all of us are interested. We started this group almost 20 years ago, and we launched on the scene together. So we've all got a mutual respect for each other, but we'll see."

She added: "Nothing has actually been set up yet [regarding the rumoured Las Vegas shows]. We've been in talks about doing something together at some point, but there have been no dates, no confirmation of anything really. It's just a conversation."
