DJ Matt Edmonson praises One Direction: 'There are no egos in that band'

Radio 1 DJ Matt Edmonson has revealed that he thinks the One Direction lads are some of the nicest people in the industry because they are so down-to-earth and unfazed by their success.

Speaking to Yahoo! OMG about the 'Story Of My Life' heartthrobs, he admitted they are really relatable and easy going, and he's even more impressed that fame hasn't changed them in any way:

"I worked on their series ('The X Factor') of One Direction so have known them all the time and they honestly haven’t changed. They are always nice, they are always chatty."

He continued: "Yes, their lives have changed and they have matured but they definitely have not been changed by fame – there are no egos in that band.”

Edmonson went onto add that he's a big fan of their music so if there's ever a situation where one of the members can't perform, he would happily stand in as a temporary replacement:

“I had dream I was the sixth member of One Direction and they all got really annoyed – but if Liam injures his foot or Zane decides he’s had enough then I am ready. I know the words and I’m happy to jump around and do whatever it takes. I’ll definitely be a standby member of One Direction.”
