'American Idol' runner up: 'Hayley Williams from Paramore gave me some great advice'

Singer Jena Irene Asciutto finished in second place on 'American Idol' on Wednesday night (May 21) and performed a duet with Paramore's Hayley Williams, but revealed that the flame-haired rocker gave her some great advice.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest about getting to sing live with one of her own favourite hitmakers, 17-year-old Asciutto admitted that it was an amazing opportunity:

"It was such a dream come true. When I met her, she talked to me for 20 minutes. And she was so complimentary… It was such an honour to sing with her.” The talented young vocalist added that Williams also gave her some words of wisdom and told her: "Just to always be yourself and no matter what place you get in the competition, you’ll go far.”

Following their duet on the show, Williams sent a public tweet to Asciutto, which read: "@JenaAsciutto1 thanks again, really for singing our songs/supporting us/everything. Come to 1 of our shows this summer and hang!"
