Passenger on new album nerves: 'It's easy to say, 'Oh crap, I need to write another 'Let Her Go''

Hitmaker Passenger has revealed that working on his new album, 'Whispers', has been a little stressful because he feels as though he has a lot to live up to following the phenomenal success of his previous offering.

The singer-songwriter, who picked up an Ivor Novello prize earlier today in the form of the PRS for Music’s Most Performed Work gong for 'Let Her Go', admitted to Digital Spy that he's trying not let the pressure of releasing a new record get to him:

"There's two ways of looking at it. You can kind of say, 'Oh crap, I need three more 'Let Her Go's. I need to keep this crazy chart momentum going'. Or you can just think, 'Wow. How amazing in a lifetime to have a song that's got this big'. That's a story to tell my grandkids - I was number one in Luxembourg!"

The star added: "If it ever happens again then that's brilliant, but if it doesn't I hope people still connect with the album. That will make me very happy."

'Whispers', meanwhile, is due to be released on June 9 in the UK and a day later in the USA.
