Liza Minnelli cancels summer shows due to medical condition

Liza Minnelli has been ordered by doctors to cancel a string of live shows.

The ‘Cabaret’ star was booked to visit the UK to play London's Royal Albert Hall on June 29 and Manchester's The Bridgewater Hall on July 4, but both shows have now been called off.

A statement on 68-year-old Minnelli’s official website explains:

“Liza Minnelli's physicians have advised her not to perform or travel for long periods of time because of a medical condition. As a result, her concerts in Europe, which were scheduled for July, have been cancelled.

“We are discussing rescheduling dates at an appropriate time. Liza wants her fans to know she is devastated not to be able to perform right now but will see them soon.”

The nature of the musical legend’s “medical condition” has not been specified but she recently underwent two hip replacements and had a procedure giving her a bionic knee.
