Beyoncé and Gaga on Forbes magazine's 100 Most Powerful Women 2014 list

The 2014 Forbes magazine 'Most Powerful Women' list has finally been unveiled and it sees impressive entries from pop icon Lady Gaga and vocal powerhouse Beyoncé.

Coming in at No.17 is global superstar Beyoncé, the highest entry for a music star in this year's list, and the accompanying statement from the magazine explains that her foray into speaking up for women is admirable:

"The singer is also embracing her role as an icon of women's empowerment, declaring that "gender equality is a myth" in an essay for The Shriver Report, throwing her weight behind Sheryl Sandberg's campaign to "Ban Bossy," and sampling author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's TED talk, "We should all be feminists," on her new album."

Entertainment presenter and TV host Ellen DeGeneres is at No.46, songstress Shakira finished at No.58, and Lady Gaga is at No.67. The Top 10, meanwhile, included the likes of Michelle Obama (No.8), Hillary Clinton (No.6), and philanthropist Melinda Gates (No.3).
