My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way to make solo debut at Reading and Leeds

My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way has been confirmed to play his first solo shows at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals.

The US star announced earlier this year that he had signed to Warner Bros Records and would be releasing a solo album.

Way will play the NME/Radio 1 stage in Reading on August 22 and Leeds on August 23.

Other names to be added to the bill include Schoolboy Q, Maverick Sabre, DZ Deathrays and La Dispute.

King Charles, Southern, We Are Scientists, The Amazing Snakeheads, American Authors and Little Matador are also among the new additions.

Tickets for the festivals, which are being headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Blink-182, Queens of the Stone Age and Paramore, are on sale now.
