The 1975 announce UK tour

The 1975 have confirmed plans to tour the UK later this year.

The British indie group will play four shows in September as they continue to tour their chart-topping 2013 self-titled album.

The run will kick off at Glasgow's Barrowland venue on September 25 before heading to Manchester for a gig at the O2 Apollo on September 26.

The 1975 will then travel to Wolverhampton's Civic Hall on September 29 before concluding it all at London's Alexandra Palace a day later.

Tickets for the dates will go on sale from Friday (June 6) at 9am UK time.

Singer Matt Healy meanwhile recently said that he thinks their link to One Direction have helped boost their fan numbers.

The group performed a cover of the boyband's 'What Makes You Beautiful' on BBC Radio's Live Lounge in 2013 and the two acts have since become friends.
