Iggy Azalea's mother: 'She has the ambition to become the female equivalent of Eminem'

Iggy Azalea's mother has revealed that she isn't surprised her daughter has become a talented rapper because she has always been great with words.

Her mother, Tanya, told Australia's The Northern Star that she always knew Azalea, real name Amethyst, would go on to do big things because she had such ambition and drive as a youngster

"I always knew Amethyst would do something to do with words and now she's a modern day poet. Her first ever hip hop performance was on the Australia Day long weekend at Lismore PCYC with a break dancing crew.”

Tanya went onto add that Azalea is aiming to be as well-known for her music as Eminem: "She always had the ambition to be the female equivalent of Eminem.”

The 'Fancy' beauty, meanwhile, recently equalled a U.S. chart record set by The Beatles in 1964 and will perform in London at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on September 17.
