Lucy Hale: 'Taylor Swift inspired me to write about my ex-boyfriends and to be vulnerable'

Songstress Lucy Hale, who has just released her debut country album 'The Road Between', has revealed that Taylor Swift has been a great source of inspiration to her where songwriting is concerned.

Hale, who stars in 'Pretty Little Liars', told Flare magazine that she has penned a few tracks about former lovers and finds it cathartic to express her feelings in such a creative way, but credited the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' beauty with giving her the strength to do so:

“I don’t really keep in touch with many of my ex-boyfriends. But there are some digs in the album for sure."

“Taylor’s untouchable. She made country quote-unquote ‘cool.’ And she made it OK to talk about your problems. And be vulnerable. And talk s**t about your ex-boyfriend. That’s so fun! Everyone wants to do that.”
