Naughty Boy and Sam Smith's 'La La La' enters 1m sales club

Naughty Boy and Sam Smith's hit track 'La La La' has become the latest song to sell one million copies in the UK.

The two artists teamed up for the song before releasing it in 2013, with the tune reaching No.1 in the UK chart.

The Official Charts Company have now confirmed that the song is the 148th track to have sold one million copies in the country.

Sam Smith, who is currently enjoying solo success with his debut album 'In the Lonely Hour', commented:

“The fact that 'La La La' has sold so many copies and broken so many boundaries is unbelievable. I was actually really worried about releasing that track because I didn’t want to be known as a featured artist. I couldn’t have been more wrong!"

Official Charts Company CEO Martin Talbot added: "Congratulations to both Naughty Boy and Sam Smith on La La La becoming one of the UK’s biggest selling singles of all-time. It’s a fantastic achievement, and sees these young British stars rubbing shoulders with other Great Britons such as Sir Elton John, The Beatles and Queen in the Million Sellers Club."

'La La La' meanwhile is joined by two other entrants to the one million club - Katy Perry's 'Firework' and Pitbull's 'Give Me Everything'.
