Lucy Hale: 'Releasing an album is scarier than acting and being on screen'

Actress turned singer Lucy Hale has confessed that recording and releasing her debut album, 'Road Between', was much more daunting than appearing on her hit U.S. TV show, 'Pretty Little Liars'.

She told Ryan Seacrest at KIIS-FM that her music career has been scarier so far because criticism is much more personal than when you're acting and just playing a role:

"It’s definitely more scary because you’re more receptive of more criticism, but I’m really proud of my album."

Hale added: "I think out of anything I’ve ever done in my life, this album is me, so I’m excited to finally show that side of me.”

Earlier this month, Hale told Flare magazine that she was inspired by Taylor Swift to write songs about her personal experiences and break-ups:

“I don’t really keep in touch with many of my ex-boyfriends. But there are some digs in the album for sure. Taylor’s untouchable. She made country quote-unquote ‘cool.’ And she made it OK to talk about your problems. And be vulnerable. And talk s**t about your ex-boyfriend. That’s so fun! Everyone wants to do that.”
