The 1975's Matt Healy: 'I've been writing in the recording studio with Niall Horan'

UK indie group The 1975 have revealed that boyband One Direction picked them as potential creative collaborators and plans have already been set in motion as one of the lads has been writing music with their frontman.

During a brief interview with Digital Spy at Radio 1's Big Weekend recently, the band's Matt Healy explained that he has spent some time in the studio writing with heartthrob Niall Horan:

"I went into the studio with them and we started to work on one track. They were asked to list who they wanted to work with on the next album, and we were one of the people they chose."

Healy's mother, actress Denise Welch, previously revealed to Digital Spy that they have been creating new music together for a while: "He's writing a song for them. I'm friends with Harry Styles' mum, Anne. I always know when she's tweeted me because I've got 27,000 of the 1D army and the 1975 army [on my timeline] and they go into meltdown."
