Mel B says her kids can't sing

Mel B has admitted that her singing genes haven't passed on to her children.

The Spice Girl has three children - Phoenix, 15, Angel Iris, 7, and Madison, two - and she told Australia's Daily Mail that they haven't really picked up her bug for singing.

She said: "My kids can't sing. If they were really good at singing I wouldn't have a problem [with them having a music career] but my kids can't sing that well. They'll sing [Disney's] 'Frozen' but it's not like, 'Oh my God they're incredible' - they're just being kids.

"Right now my two-year-old Madison does everything my seven-year-old does - and my seven year old is into Barbies and princesses, while my 15 year old is into basketball."

Mel B meanwhile is currently taking up the role as a judge on the 2014 series of the UK X Factor alongside Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.

The singer has previously appeared on the UK TV talent show as a guest judge.
