Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams win big at BET Awards

Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams were among the winners at this year's BET Awards.

The awards ceremony, which was formed by Black Entertainment Television in 2001, was held on Sunday (June 29) in Los Angeles.

Beyoncé went home with the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist prize, as well as Best Collaboration for her 'Drunk In Love' Jay Z collaboration.

Pharrell Williams won the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist gong and the Video of the Year award for the track 'Happy'.

The latter performed on the night alongside Missy Elliott on his track 'Come Get It Bae'.

Other winners included 12 Years a Slave in the Best Movie category and Lupita Nyong'o, who went home with the Best Actress award.

Nicki Minaj meanwhile bagged the Best Female Hip Hop Artist prize.
