Doncaster Rovers co-owner denies Louis Tomlinson is exploiting fans

Doncaster Rovers co-owner John Ryan has dismissed suggestion that Louis Tomlinson is exploiting One Direction fans.

The two parties recently teamed up to by the League One football club and they immediately launched a fans' trust to allow people to give money to the team.

In return fans can receive a number of rewards, but charging for fans £250 to get a picture taken with Tomlinson was criticised.

Speaking to the Star, Ryan denied that the singer was taking advantage of his fans, saying:

“People do what they want to do. If they wanted to buy a Doncaster Rovers shirt because of Louis, they will anyway. Louis has said when he goes all over the world he sees Rovers shirts at his concerts. He mentioned seeing a few when he was in Australia last. What’s wrong with that? We’re not twisting people’s arms behind their backs. If they want to do it, they will. That’s the nature of life.”

The trust aims to raise £2 million for Doncaster Rovers by July 17, with the total currently sitting at nearly £700,000.
