Dolly Parton and Metallica songs break into UK singles chart top 50

Songs by Dolly Parton and Metallica have entered the top 50 of the UK singles chart after the acts performed at Glastonbury.

Country icon Parton played at the festival on Sunday (June 29) whilst the US rock titans headlined the Saturday (June 28).

The Official Charts Company confirmed today (July 1) that Parton's 'Jolene' has shot up 116 places to No.40 after her slot, whist '9 to 5' is No.57.

Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' meanwhile has entered at No.43, with 'Nothing Else Matters' sitting at No.47.

This week's chart is the first UK singles list to include streaming, with 100 streams equal to one sale.

Ariana Grande's 'Problem' is on course to reach No.1, but only 1% of her tally is from streaming.
