Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande will be on hand to celebrate Independence Day with a special TV show.

The duo will hit the stage for VH1's Philly 4th of July Jam today to celebrate the patriotic American day.

Jennifer Hudson and Aloe Blacc will also perform at the event, which will be hosted by Marlon Wayans.

The gig will take place at the Parkway in Philadelphia, with the night rounded off by fireworks.

The concert comes as Ed Sheeran enjoys chart success in the US with his new album 'x'.

The effort managed to shift 210,000 copies in its first week to become the fourth quickest selling record of the year so far in America.

In contrast, Sheeran's 2011 debut album '+' only sold 42,000 units in its first week in the US.
