The Libertines to play new music at London shows

Fans of The Libertines can expect to hear new songs from the band when they play a trio of shows at London’s Alexandra Palace in September.

Continuing their live reunion shows the ‘Up The Bracket’ quartet headlined the Benicassim festival last night (July 19).

XFM caught up with the band – Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell – ahead of their set at the Spanish festival and reported that they are set to debut new music at their Alexandra Palace shows.

XFM wrote on Twitter: “Just spoke to @libertines before their @fiberfib set. They told us they will play new material at Ally Pally shows.”

The Libertines will perform three dates at Alexandra Palace on September 26, 27 and 28.

As their reunion dates continue it seems they are still enjoying their time together as Carl Barat also took to Twitter after playing Benicassim to write:

“Viva Espana! #Benicassim up the sangria x”
