Culture Club and Clean Bandit team with BBC Philharmonic for orchestral gigs

Culture Club and Clean Bandit are among the acts who are due to collaborate with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for a series of gigs later this year.

A number of artists are joining up with the BBC group to promote the appeal of orchestral music.

The reunited Culture Club will play at MediaCityUK, Salford on September 17, with the gig due to be broadcast on radio.

They will run through their 1983 album 'Colour by Numbers' with the 90-piece orchestra.

Clean Bandit - who feature strings in their sound - will perform at the same venue on September 10.

US star John Grant, who was nominated for this year's International Male Solo Artist BRIT award, will play on October 3.

Tickets for all the events will be free via a ballot.
