Kate Bush asks fans not to take photos or videos at London gigs

Kate Bush has ordered fans to not take any pictures or videos during her upcoming concerts.

The reclusive singer is due to perform live for the first time since 1979 in September and October in London.

She will play a number of shows as part of the sold-out Before The Dawn residency at the Hammersmith Apollo.

Bush has now taken to her website to state that photography will not be allowed:

"We have purposefully chosen an intimate theatre setting rather than a large venue or stadium. It would mean a great deal to me if you would please refrain from taking photos or filming during the shows.

"I very much want to have contact with you as an audience, not with iPhones, iPads or cameras. I know it's a lot to ask, but it would allow us to all share in the experience together."

The singer added that rehearsals for the dates are going "very well".
