5SOS announce their iTunes Festival support act

Australian pop-punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer were recently confirmed to perform at the forthcoming iTunes Festival in London on September 4 and their support act has now been announced.

Charlie Simpson, the former frontman of Busted, will open the show and he shared a post on Twitter about the slot earlier today (August 19): "I'm very pleased to announce I'll be performing at the #iTunesFestival on September 4th!"

5SOS's Calum Hood also addressed the exciting news via his own social networking page and revealed his enthusiasm at the bill's new addition: "Really excited to have @charliesimo come play with us at the iTunes festival. Hope you can come along!"

Simpson, meanwhile, released his second solo album on July 14 and it's called 'Long Road Home'.

The 'She Looks So Perfect' hitmakers recently gave an interview to the Rolling Stone magazine and drummer Ashton Irwin explained that making music with the other lads was a way to escape their realities at the time: "I always wanted to be in a band with a bunch of dudes who loved Green Day and all that. So just going onstage and playing Blink-182 covers really f**king bad – it was the coolest thing ever."
