Nile Rodgers backs Diana Ross for Glastonbury

Nile Rodgers has shown his support for Diana Ross after she was linked with a performance at next year's Glastonbury festival.

The Chic axeman worked with the veteran singer on some of her albums in 1980s and he told The Sun that she would be a perfect fit for the festival.

He said: "Diana is one of my greatest friends and she is an incredible performer. I know she'd love to feel the vibe and the love from any festival audience."

The singer has been mooted for Glastonbury's 'Sunday afternoon legends' slot.

Dolly Parton performed at this year's festival and she was hailed as one of the event's big successes.

Rodgers meanwhile previously worked on Ross's 1980 album 'diana' and her 1989 effort 'Workin' Overtime'.
