Songstress Mel B recently joined the judging panel of the UK 'X Factor' and opened up about the impressive calibre of female solo artists that are enjoying success right now. 

During an interview with OK! magazine, the Spice Girl explained that there are some great female artists to look up to at the moment and praised the likes of Katy Perry and 'Diamonds' star Rihanna:

"There are many different artists out there that have the X factor; your Rihannas, your Katy Perrys and Rita Oras. There's a bunch of strong, independent females that I love."

When asked if she thinks the Spice Girls would have made it through the first round of vocal talent show auditions, Mel B admitted that she isn't sure: "Oh God, I don't know... I'd like to think they would get through, but I don't know."
