Diplo has joked that he is now "best friends" with One Direction after meeting the group.

The DJ took to Twitter on Tuesday (September 16) to tweet about the British-Irish boyband after meeting some of their members in Las Vegas.

He said: "One Direction are my new best friends."

Niall Horan later replied on the social networking website: "Great to meet you."

Diplo later added a photo of himself with Horan, Zayn Malik and Marvin Humes as the former celebrated his 21st birthday.

Former JLS man Humes meanwhile posted on Twitter:

"Yo tonight was CRAZY! Djing after diplo Jheeeeeze that's no joke!"
