Ringo Starr thinks Kasabian are 'great'

Ringo Starr has lauded Kasabian.

The Beatles drummer opened up about the Leicester rockers in this week's issue of NME.

The Liverpudlian said that the '48:13' group are an embodiment of hardworking British bands.

He said: "Earlier on I heard Kasabian doing a BBC thing [BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge]. They're a great band.

"They played like the rest of us – pubs, clubs and now they're the festival band. So I've always felt 'the band' will come through."

Starr was also asked if he thinks rock bands will maintain their popularity in years to come, with the drummer replying:

"I think so. I think people wanna see people playing and singing."

Kasabian meanwhile were one of this year's Glastonbury Festival headliners.
