Ella Eyre on fame: 'There's so much pressure and exposure, but we're all in the same boat'

Rising star Ella Eyre has opened up about her journey so far as a newcomer and confessed that there's definitely a sense of being under pressure to do well.

Speaking to Digital Spy about progressing as an artist, she explained that she's learning as she goes and it's not always easy:

"I think there's definitely a pedestal and it definitely exposes you to a lot more than you would normally. I think yeah, to a certain degree there's pressure, but there's pressure in anything really. I think for us up-and-coming artists, once you're out there, once you've put stuff up, once people know who you are, once you discover who you are; we're all in the same boat it's down to whether people appreciate the music or not."

Eyre went onto add that in a music industry that relies so heavily on social media there will always be pressure because there's that possibility that you'll 'go viral' and shoot from obscurity to widespread fame in no time at all:

"So I think there's always going to be pressure regardless of whether you've been nominated for an award or whether you've just gone viral or you've had a random hit come out of nowhere - somebody like Kiesza, who's just exploded onto the scene because of her first single. I think there's the same pressure for anybody who is in the same boat as me."

The beauty also recently announced details of a UK tour and is set to kick things off in Birmingham on October 1 before playing cities such as Leeds, Glasgow and Sheffield. The jaunt will end on October 22 in Belfast.
