Phil Collins 'not ready' to return to touring

Phil Collins has insisted he won't be returning to the live music scene on a full-time basis.

The Genesis drummer turned solo star has been largely inactive in recent years, but he played at his sons' school music concert in May.

He is also due to perform at a charity concert in Miami on December 6 and this has sparked suggestion that he might tour solo next year or perform in a Genesis reunion.

However, Collins said in a statement that he has no plans to return to the live scene.

He said of the Miami gig: "I will be performing three or four songs semi-acoustically, and maybe one more with my 13-year-old son Nicolas on drums, but that’s all. I am not ready to return to the full concert stage at this time."

Collins has not performed a full live set in about five years, with the musician revealing in 2010 that he suffered a serious spinal injury and was unable to play drums.
