The likes of Rihanna and Metallica have been confirmed to perform at a special show to recognise the sacrifices made by the military.

HBO will broadcast Concert for Valor on November 11, with the gig taking place at the National Mall in Washington DC.

Rihanna and Metallica will be joined on the bill by Eminem, Bruce Springsteen and Carrie Underwood.

There will also be appearances by Dave Grohl, Jamie Foxx, John Oliver and the Zac Brown Band.

Tom Hanks will host the event with Meryl Streep and director Steven Spielberg.

The gig will take place on Veterans Day, which recognises the service made by former US military members.
