Frankie Grande defends sister Ariana Grande: 'I have to take care of her'

'Big Brother' finalist Frankie Grande has spoken out in support of his pop star sister, Ariana Grande, after she has recently been criticised in the press for exercising 'diva-like' behaviour.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, the 31-year-old explained that he feels very protective over Ariana because she is his younger sister and doesn't think she is bratty at all. He admitted that she works incredibly hard and is a genuine person:

"First of all, a diva according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary is a wonderful female performer and personality - a glamorous female performer - so I don't know why all the negative connotation now comes with that word. I will say that she is one of the most genuine, hard-working and talented people that I have ever seen."

"There's a big age difference and I feel that I have to take care of her. Often that has become my role in her life, especially with her growing up and becoming a pop star - it has been trying for our family, so we definitely had to stick together."

Frankie went onto add that there's so much pressure surrounding young people who find themselves on the rise to fame at an early age, but his family were always so supportive that it has been very manageable:

"When you're thrust into the public eye at a young age and so very forcefully, I feel like things start happening that people aren't ready for. Without a supportive and very tight family unit they start to fall by the wayside or start to fall apart, but it actually brought us closer together."
