Simon Cowell on 'X Factor' contestants: 'The two who got it right were One Direction and Olly Murs'

Music mogul Simon Cowell has advised the contestants in this year's 'X Factor' that they should take notice of how singer Olly Murs and internationally loved boyband One Direction dealt with their time on the show because he would like to work with artists who are that driven and that excited about their futures.

The Sun newspaper reported that Cowell told his groups to look to One Direction and Olly Murs for inspiration on how to behave and how they should approach their performances:

"The audience can work out if you just want to be famous. If you’re real and truthful, you shouldn’t be afraid of that, don’t put on a TV persona. Two artists who got it right were 1D and Olly Murs — they showed exactly who they were."

"Don’t be a puppet. If you choose the wrong song, you’re out. You all have a real hectic workload but find an hour a day searching for ideas — you need to do that. Just work far ahead. Think about 1D and Olly — they were as tired as you’ll be."
