Dave Grohl on people: 'You could be Demi Lovato or Pantera's drummer, I'll hang with anyone'

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that he is very much a people person and would just as quickly sit down for a chat with Demi Lovato as he would grab a beer with the drummer of Pantera.

During a new interview with Britain's The Guardian newspaper, the rocker explained that he has always been great at getting along with people from all walks of life, and will happily hang out with anyone who seems interesting and has a story to tell:

“I was the one punk rock kid in my high school, but rather than be an outcast, I was everybody’s friend. I could hang out with stoners and nerds and jocks, I didn’t have a problem with that. People are people, I don’t give a s**t. You could be Demi Lovato or the f**king drummer from Pantera – I don’t care, let’s have a drink!”

Grohl went onto add that people seem to be stuck on a certain stereotype of what a 'rock star' really is and confessed that he wants to change that perception with his own definition:

"People just don’t understand that there is an alternative to what you would imagine a rock star to be. You don’t have to have a needle hanging out of your arm, you don’t have to f**king lock down a festival backstage. Why not just go f**king knock on everybody’s door with a bottle of whisky and say: ‘Hi, I’m Dave, how are you? Nice to meet you,’ and see who’s going to f**king join the party? That’s the first thing I do.”
