Nile Rodgers has reached out to Adam Lambert in an effort to get him to sing on a new song.

The legendary guitarist, who has previously worked with Lambert on the singer's solo material and Avicii's 'Lay Me Down', spoke to the US star on Twitter today (November 19).

Rodgers invited the vocal powerhouse to lend his singing talent to a Diana Ross and Chic song he is working on.

The axeman said: "Hey Adam! How the hell are you? Please sing on this Diana Ross w CHIC track! Send me your schedule. I'll call Martin. Love.

"BTW - The song is sick! You'd love it and nail it in less than an hour knowing you… okay 2 hours but it's great."

Rodgers later added: "AND come to Elton's Oscar Party and sing with CHIC. I'll send you an email if you jumped off the tweet pipe."
