Noel Gallagher: 'I only put 75% into recording my new album'

Musician Noel Gallagher has revealed that he never puts all of his effort into a project because he has to reserve some energy for the fun that comes after an album's release.

Speaking about his new album 'Chasing Yesterday', which is due to be unveiled in March next year, the star admitted that he only put 75% of his effort into it: "This time I did the record in London, I mean crikey it's difficult to focus and make it. I didn't put that much effort into the album, I can only give it 75 percent at one time."

Gallagher then explained why he never gives 100% and joked that he has to save some of his energy for after parties: "People say, 'I gave it 100 percent,', and I'm always only giving it 75 percent. People ask me, 'Why do you say that?' And I say I have to keep a bit for the after show. I can't be leaving it all on stage."

Earlier this month, the rocker opened up about the suburb of Burnage in Manchester where he grew up and admitted that people were more interested in drugs than music:

"Where I come from, it's not musical at all, although Manchester is, obviously. I don't say it to be cool, but we were more into taking drugs and banging around in the park [than listening to music]. Music's great and all that, but it's not as good as mushrooms."
