Bob Geldof urges public to re-download Band Aid 30 single

Bob Geldof has called on the public to re-buy the new Band Aid single.

The charity project celebrated its 30th anniversary recently by recording a new version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' to raise funds for the Ebola efforts.

It stormed to No.1 in the UK on Sunday (November 23) after going on sale digitally.

However, project organiser Geldof told BBC Radio 1 that people should keep buying the song because its low price.

The Boomtown Rats man added that as a result the single is in danger of not raising as much as the inaugural Band Aid track thirty years ago.

He said: "We need to sell 300% more than we did [in 1984] to even begin to make up the cash figure.

"That worries me...Even if you already have it, delete, download again."

The new Band Aid single features contributions from the likes of One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Bono and Chris Martin.
