One Direction and Sam Smith choose 'X Factor' finalists' songs

The final five 'X Factor' contestants are singing two songs this weekend, one which was chosen by the public and another that was specially picked for them by music stars such as One Direction and Sam Smith.

One Direction chose the song that finalist Ben Haenow will sing and admitted that 'Come Together' by The Beatles seemed like an 'obvious choice': "We thought it was a really obvious choice for Ben. We think he could really own it and his voice has the perfect tone for a song like that. We know he will smash it!"

Vocal powerhouse Sam Smith selected Sia's 'Chandelier' for Andrea Faustini and explained that he has the ability to sing it so well: "I worked with Sia about 6 months ago and I remember being in the booth with her and her voice is just ridiculous, and when I heard Andreas voice for the first time I remember feeling that same kind of reaction."

Smith added: "The song is so difficult to sing but I genuinely from my heart think Andrea can do this. This is a huge, huge challenge and I think you’ve got to challenge yourself. Everyone I know loves that song, and everyone I know loves him."
