Fleetwood Mac to headline Isle of Wight festival

Fleetwood Mac are the first confirmed headline act for next year's Isle of Wight festival.

The iconic group will top the bill at the event on the Sunday night (June 14).

The news has put paid to rumours of the band headlining Glastonbury, with Isle of Wight confirming that it is a "worldwide exclusive booking".

Fleetwood Mac commented: "We've always wanted to come to the UK to play The Isle of Wight Festival, and so we are delighted that in 2015, we are finally making it happen.

"So many of our fellow artists and friends have played at this historic event over the years, and we can't wait to see all of our fans on the island next summer."

The band meanwhile are due to play a number of UK arena shows next year.

The tour will also mark the return of Christine McVie to the group.
