Eminem, Pharrell and Katy Perry in Spotify's most popular acts of 2014 results

Music streaming company Spotify has finally shared its end of year data about the acts that were the most popular and the songs that were played the most on the service.

Spotify has now confirmed that rapper Eminem is the most-streamed artist in the USA, but also included in the Top 5 were Canadian hitmaker Drake, hip-hop star Kanye West, sultry songstress Lana Del Rey, and 'Problem' star Ariana Grande.

The Top 5 Global Artists list looks a little different and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is in the No.1 position. Calvin Harris, Katy Perry and alternative band Coldplay are also featured.

The final bunch of stats shared by the digital streaming service is for the Top 5 Songs of the Year and the track that came out on top was Pharrell's 'Happy'. At No.2 is Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be', Calvin Harris' 'Summer' is at No.3, Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' is in fourth place, and John Legend's ballad 'All Of Me' is at No.5.
