Ed Sheeran and Pharrell Williams have topped this year's UK iTunes bestsellers list.

The digital retailer have just released their end of year chart and it sees Sheeran's second record 'x' top the albums list.

Pharrell Williams' hit track 'Happy' meanwhile was the most purchased song on the UK iTunes service this year.

Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' is No.2 on the albums list, with the Frozend soundtrack the third most popular.

Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be' meanwhile is the second most bought song on iTunes this year.

Commenting about the news, Sheeran said: "Absolutely buzzing to hear I've got the best selling album on iTunes this year."
