Jack White and Arctic Monkeys boost US vinyl sales

The likes of Jack White and Arctic Monkeys have helped to increase sales of vinyls in 2014.

The former has sold over 75,700 copies of his June album 'Lazaretto' on vinyl this year in the States.

This means that it is the top-selling record in the US of 2014, with Arctic Monkeys' 'AM' in second place with sales of over 40,000.

LP versions of Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die', Beck's 'Morning Phase' and The Black Keys 'Turn Blue' also sold well in the US this year.

Purchases of vinyl went up 49% in the US in the last 12 months, with total sales of eight million.
