Beyoncé and Jay Z sued for 'Drunk in Love' sample

Beyoncé, Jay Z and Timbaland have reportedly been slapped with a lawsuit for allegedly using a vocal sample without permission.

Hungarian singer Monika Miczura Juhász claims that the musical trio used her voice in the 2013 song 'Drunk in Love'.

The Guardian reports that the lawsuit reads: "All together, Mitsou's vocals are featured for over one and a half minutes of the five and one half minute song.

"Mitsou's incredible voice is widely considered unique and ethereal, and since the 1990s, she has been in high demand for countless international collaborations as a featured guest singer.

"[But she] has never signed any documents that would permit anyone to use her voice for advertising or trade purposes...and never granted any of the defendants permission to use her voice for any purpose."

It is also said that the sample use was designed to "evoke foreign eroticism alongside the sexually intense lyrics performed by Beyoncé and Jay Z".

Monika Miczura Juhász is reportedly seeking damages and for the song to be banned until her voice is taken off the track.
