Sam Smith, 5SOS and Ed Sheeran pick their favourite records of 2014

2014 has been another fantastic year for popular music and some of the biggest acts of the past 12 months have shared the songs and albums they've been listening to.

Sam Smith had a lot of high praise for Ed Sheeran and explained to Billboard: "My favourite single would be Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud', I think it's amazing. My favourite album would be Taylor Swift's. I'm listening to it on constant repeat at the moment."

Sheeran returned the compliment, adding: "Sam Smith's album, especially 'Stay With Me'.

Australian pop-punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer suggested Paramore's latest album and Charli XCX confessed to loving Becky G's summer anthem, 'Shower'. Meghan Trainor, who rose to fame with 'All About That Bass', explained that she loves Nico & Vinz's 'Am I Wrong'.

Sam Smith, meanwhile, recently became the first artist to sell one million albums in both the U.S. and the UK in 2014 with his impressive debut, 'In The Lonely Hour'.
