Jessie J: 'Writing a song for Miley Cyrus paid my rent for over three years'

Jessie J has opened up on the huge financial rewards of writing music for other artists.

The singer helped to pen the track 'Party In The USA' for Miley Cyrus in 2009.

Speaking to Glamour, the Brit said that the royalties gained from the US No.2 single helped to cover her rent costs for over three years.

Jessie J said: "You've got to write songs, that's where the money is, being an artist. 'Party In The USA' paid my rent for, like, three years.

"Actually it was way longer than that. That's where I get most of my money. I write songs. I'm a singer. I love endorsements and stuff, but that's all added on."
