Sex Pistols' John Lydon: 'I'm absolutely oblivious to Band Aid 30'

Sex Pistols singer John Lydon has admitted that he was unaware that Band Aid released a new single.

The charity project unleashed the latest version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' in November to raise money for the battle against Ebola.

Speaking to NME, Lydon said that he didn't even know about the 30th anniversary single release because he doesn't watch TV or listen to radio.

The punk added that he feels that whilst the campaign may have good intentions, there is some "glory-hunting" involved.

Lydon said: "I'm absolutely oblivious to Band Aid 30. I avoid all radio and TV. Another charity? Gawd, just what the world needs.

"All these charity events just seem to be glory-hunting. Somewhere in there there's someone with good intentions, but the rest tend to be an awful lot of liggers. The message is always dissipated in these things."
