Idina Menzel responds to New Year's Eve 'Let It Go' criticism

Idina Menzel has responded to critics after apparently failing to reach a high note during a recent performance of 'Let It Go'.

The singer ran through the hit Frozen track during the New Year's Rockin' Eve event on Wednesday (December 31) in New York.

She came under fire, however, for appearing to fluff a high note at the end of the tune.

Speaking on Twitter today (January 2), Menzel responded to her doubters with an excerpt of a previous interview she gave.

It sees the US star state that vocalists are still "succeeding" even if they manage to reach 75% of the notes each night.

This is because there are about "three million notes" in a two-and-a-half-hour musical.
