Nile Rodgers has poured cold water over talk of him contributing to Lady Gaga's next album.

The Chic man and songwriter Diane Warren were recently pictured with the 'Applause' star in a studio.

This lead to gossip speculating that they were writing tunes for the follow-up to Gaga's 2013 record 'ARTPOP'.

However, Rodgers told the New York Post that the trio were merely "jamming".

The guitarist said: "It really bugs me that [people] speculate.

"Jamming out is just what musicians do."
