G.R.L.: 'It would give out the wrong message for the band to give up now'

G.R.L. have opened up about their future following the death of their bandmate Simone Battle.

The girl group were left shocked and saddened in September when 25-year-old singer Simone Battle died in her home.

Los Angeles County Coroner's Lt. Fred Corra confirmed that the former X Factor USA contestant hung herself.

Speaking in a new interview with The Sun, G.R.L. said that moving on and keeping the band's spirit alive was the best way forward.

Lauren Bennett said: "I think it would be the wrong message for the band to give up now, especially to people who are suffering from something like this. You have to be strong and move forward no matter what happens in your life.

"We’ve been in touch with Simone’s mum. I’ve personally spoken to her a lot through this. We have her support for the band to move forward - she says she wants the best for us four girls."

G.R.L. today (January 15) released the song 'Lighthouse' in honour of Battle.
