Greek singer Demis Roussos dies aged 68

Greek singer Demis Roussos has passed away.

The Hygeia Hospital in Athens confirmed to the BBC that the music star died aged 68.

The Greek Reporter say Roussos died in the early hours of Sunday morning (January 25).

The singer - full name Artemios 'Demis' Ventouris Roussos - was born in 1946 and he found fame in rock group Aphrodite's Child.

Roussos then had huge success as a solo artist, shifting over 60 million albums worldwide in total.

He released a string of solo records between 1971 and the late 2000s.

Roussos was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt before moving to Greece.
